Email Builder - Drag & Drop Editor

Build your email block by block on a drag-and-drop canvas.

Beginner4 min read

The drag-and-drop editor gives you full control — add, arrange, and style blocks on the canvas until it’s exactly right.

Where to find it: Email Builder. Part of the Email Builder guide.

The drag-and-drop Email Builder

When you click Open in Builder (or start from scratch), you land on the visual canvas. This is where you shape the email by hand. Drag any element or layout from the left panel onto the canvas, then style it in the right-hand SETTINGS panel.

Across the top there’s a small toolbar. Flip AI Generate on to let Darwin fill a section for you, or turn on Wireframe to sketch the structure first before adding real content. Three tabs switch your view: Content (the canvas), Settings (email details), and Send. Save your work with the green Save button, use Preview to see the finished email, switch between desktop, tablet, and mobile with the device switcher, and adjust the zoom controls on the right.

The right SETTINGS panel changes based on what you select. Click a layout and you’ll see Layout Type, Layout Styles (Background color, Border Radius), Spacing (Padding, Margin), Column Settings, and Canvas Layout (a Full Width toggle and Canvas Width in pixels). Click a component — say, a Menu block — and you’ll see that block’s own settings instead: menu items with Text, URL, and an Active toggle, plus Style Settings like orientation, alignment, font, and size.

Elements, blocks & layouts

The left panel is split into three groups. Think of it this way: elements are the small building blocks, content blocks are ready-made sections, and layouts are the column structures you drop everything into.
